Possum guards
Possums
can be a real threat to trees placing them under lots of stress.
Possums eat all the leaves and new shoots that grow on trees causing
deadwood to occur. This constant eating by possums can kill a
tree. If a tree is already under stress by other factors such
as root compaction or lack of water or disease a possum will definitely
shorten it's life span resulting in death. So by eliminating the
possum the tree may deal with the other factors if it is strong
enough. To stop possums climbing your tree we install possum guards.
These are transparent perspects sheets rolled around and attached
to the trees trunk by pop riviting it to itself. No holes are
drilled into the tree. This perspects is easy on the eye and doesn't
allow the possum to get it's claws into the tree. It acts like
a slippery shield. Installing possum guards and pruning the trees
branches away from other trees, houses or fences to stop them
jumping accross will help save the tree if possum infestation
is a problem.
