Pollarding

Pollarding is a form of pruning which is used on trees around city streets, in nature strips and under power lines. This technique is a little drastic at first but 1-2 years later (depending on the species of tree) the new growth will appear. This pruning is also used as a last resort in shocking a dying tree, so it may produce some new growth.
